Project Overview

Outreach and application platform connecting small-scale industry workers to PMEGP government schemes, free skills training and welfare support.

Built the outreach site for SIDCO, a council that connects small-scale industry workers to PMEGP and allied central government schemes, free skills training in sewing, embroidery, weaving and painting, and healthcare and education support for workers' families. The site runs an application form capturing candidate details, district and state, structured pages for each programme — the Employment Generation Programme, a Self Help Group scheme, Village Industries Fairs, an Election Survey Project running 250+ survey executives across India, and a Name Board Survey Project — plus a prominent fraud warning, since PMEGP-adjacent scams are common enough that the Council addresses it directly on the homepage.

The Challenge

What problem needed solving?

Government schemes for small-scale industry workers exist, but the council's own framing is blunt about why they don't reach people: development has stayed concentrated in cities, and "corruption and laxity" have meant workers not receiving timely support or training. Compounding that, the PMEGP scheme space attracts fraudulent job-fee scams that erode trust before an organisation doing real outreach can even make contact.

Our Approach

How we solved it

We built the site to do two things at once — make applying genuinely easy (a single form: name, mobile, district, state, optional document upload) and make the fraud warning impossible to miss, placed on the homepage itself rather than buried in a footer disclaimer. Each programme area got its own explained section rather than a single "our services" paragraph, since PMEGP guidance, training, education and survey work are different asks with different audiences.
